Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This policy explains how Solas Logic ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit our website or get in touch with us. We keep things simple and only collect what we need.
This website is aimed at businesses in Australia, and we aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our website, we collect the details you give us, such as:
- your name and business name
- your email address and, if you provide it, your phone number
- your current website address (if any) and the plan you're interested in
- anything you tell us in your message
If you contact us by email or phone, we keep what you send us.
When you visit our website, we also use Google Analytics to collect information about how the site is used, such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and, if you become a client, provide our services and manage billing. We use analytics information to understand how our website is used and to improve it.
We will never sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.
Who we share it with, and where it is stored
We use the following providers to run our business:
- Netlify: hosts our website, keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) and processes enquiry form submissions on our behalf, including automated spam checks.
- Google Workspace: provides our business email, which is where your enquiry arrives.
- Google Analytics: provides website visit statistics.
These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't share your information with anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it. If you become a client, we'll tell you about any other providers involved in your project.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and no longer than 12 months if you don't become a client. Client records are kept for as long as required for legal and accounting purposes. Website analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use our website. This information is sent to Google and may be stored outside Australia. We don't use cookies for advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics. Blocking cookies won't stop you using our website.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using HTTPS on our website and two-factor authentication on our business accounts. No system can be guaranteed to be completely safe.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll delete it where we can, but we may need to keep some information for legal reasons. We may need to confirm who you are before we share or change anything.
To make a request, email hello@solaslogic.com. We'll reply within a reasonable time and aim to do so within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first at hello@solaslogic.com and we'll look into it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC (oaic.gov.au).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll make that clear on this page.
